Russian Trade Representative in Azerbaijan Adam Khakimov has said that plans are underway to launch a cruise service between Moscow and Baku in the near future.

Axar.az reports that Khakimov made the remarks in an interview with the Military Acceptance programme on the Zvezda TV channel.

“We plan to launch a Moscow–Baku cruise liner in the near future,” he said.

According to him, the journey will take an average of 14 days, with seven days each way.

Khakimov noted that the project involves a luxury-class liner and will receive state support, including subsidies from Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade.

“At present, one completed vessel is ready, and two more are on the way. If the project is successful, we hope these two vessels will also sail to Baku,” he said.
