The second racing day at Baku City Circuit was the day of crashes, records and top performers. From the very first Formula 1 session in the morning to the night concert of The Black Eyed Peas and Nicole Scherzinger 2017 Azerbaijan Grand Prix was providing fun and inspirational helter-skelter for all the guests of the race track.

Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has made the racing highlight in the qualification when the Brit has set the fastest result of all time in Baku. The Mercedes AMG driver has been struggling for pace and grip for the whole weekend but at the most critical moment Hamilton proved to be a legendary sportsman at the top of his game. In the final segment of qualification Lewis outshined all of his rivals and set the historical time: 1:40.593. It is an all-time high result which is 2 seconds faster than the previous pole-position won by Nico Rosberg last year.

The story of Hamilton’s victory began on Friday when Lewis couldn’t find the proper setup. Three times world champion was very unhappy. He felt his super soft and soft tyres felt like hard and extra hard ones – though the latter even don’t exist. There had been no grip at all but on the second day of racing Lewis Hamilton with his team of engineers found their way to success. The car was getting quicker and quicker every time and on the final effort Hamilton stormed to his 66th pole-position half a second faster than his teammate Valtteri Bottas. Two gfooFerraris were too far behind.

Daniel Ricciardo’s hopes to fight for the first row on the starting grid fell apart when the Red Bull driver smashed his car in the 6th turn of Baku City Circuit. That was the main incident of the segment – the accident was so heavy that the stewards had to interrupt the session so that marshals could safely evacuate the broken Red Bull from the track.

The main race of Formula 2 series had its own top performer. Meet Charles Leclerc – one of the most talented and consistent youngsters in the junior championship. 19-years-old Leclerc started from pole-position, led most of the laps and finished first despite the Baku race was shortened by 5 laps. Sean Gelael from Indonesia happened to be the reason for that shortening. The Arden driver effectively blocked the way for everyone when he put his car perpendicular to the race track at the eight corner. The weird accident made the stewards stop the race before the chequered flag – and that was definitely the crash of the day.

The evening fun started at F1 Village when the top musical performers organized their own show for die hard race fans of Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The world famous artists including Nicole Scherzinger and The Black Eyed Peas fired up the stage with their best songs that provided energetic vibes for all the spectators.

The emotion packed Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix has only one day to go now. The fans believe the most interesting scripts and stories are yet to come.
