Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received the newly-appointed United Nations Resident Coordinator and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative in the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ghulam M. Isaczai

Ghulam Isaczai on Monday presented the copy of his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The minister expressed hope that he would contribute to further development of Azerbaijani-UN relations, emphasizing the successful development of Azerbaijan’s cooperation within the UNDP and noting the importance of increasing efforts for the development of relations.

Ghulam Isaczai said the organization is interested to enhance the cooperation with Azerbaijan. He also underlined the necessity of allowing other countries to benefit from the experiences of Azerbaijan’s ANAMA and ASAN service.

Mammadyarov gave information about large-scale energy and transport projects carried out in recent years on the initiative and with the participation of Azerbaijan and steps taken for the implementation of the East-West and North-South transport corridors.

At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the issues of mutual interest.
