Lightning kills 65 in Cambodia over past 5 months

Sixty-five people in Cambodia were killed from lightning strikes in the first five months of this year, local media reported Monday.

Axar.az informs citing AA.

National Committee for Disaster Management spokesman Keo Vy said 46 others were also injured by lightning.

Noting that the death toll was high, Vy added that the number of people who lost their lives during the period was equal to the total for 2017.

The death toll is feared to rise as more lightning strikes are expected before the rainy season ends in October.
