In accordance with the requirements of the International Automobile Federation, a special burn recovery unit will be created under the department of intensive care and anesthesiology of the Central Hospital of Oil Worker in Baku in connection with the upcoming Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe, head of the Hospital’s first aid department Raud Asadov told on Wednesday.
The Health Ministry and the Central Hospital of Oil Workers have already prepared and approved the scheme of the burn recovery unit which will correspond to all standards.
The Health Ministry has already ordered the necessary medical equipment, which is to be delivered to Baku from May 15 to 20, according to Asadov.
He added that the Health Ministry has trained 10 doctors and 10 nurses in the Central Hospital of Oil Workers. Two doctors and two nurses of the intensive care department have undergone one-month training in the burn center in Ankara, Turkey.
The department head said a physician-specialist from Turkey has already arrived in Baku for F1 race.
“The professor is holding seminars in Baku for the staff of the newly-created unit and 103 emergency service staff. He is also working on coordination of emergency situations, first aid and system of specialized assistance in the Central Hospital of Oil Workers,” he said.
Asadov added that preparatory works in the burn unit will be completed by May 20.
The Central Hospital of Oil Workers is the partner for 2016 Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe that will start in Baku on June 19 at 18:00 (UTC+04:00).
