Zakir Hasanov, Azerbaijani defense minister, colonel-general, met with his Georgian counterpart Tinatin Khidasheli May 15, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said.

Hasanov greeted the members of the Georgian delegation and stressed the strategic importance of the bilateral talks and meetings.

Hasanov also stressed that the military cooperation with Georgia is being rapidly developed.

Khidasheli stressed that she is pleased with her first visit to Azerbaijan's Gabala city and thanked her Azerbaijani counterpart for the hospitality.

Then the sides discussed the military-political situation in the region and other issues of mutual interest.
