Azerbaijan`s First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva has met with world-renowned Azerbaijani singer and composer Sami Yusuf on October 1.

Axar.az informs that, First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva presented the singer with the honorary diploma of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva highly appreciated the participation of Sami Yusuf at the 2nd Nasimi Festival of Poetry, Art and Spirituality. Mehriban Aliyeva recalled the singer's performance at the 43rd session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in Baku in June this year, noting that the concert was organized at the highest level and contributed to the relationship between Azerbaijan and UNESCO. The First Vice President said that according to the Order of the President of Azerbaijan, those who took an active part in the organization and holding of the 43rd Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in Baku were awarded "Honorary Diploma of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan". Sami Yusuf is one of those people.

The first vice president presented an honorary diploma to the singer.

At the meeting, Mehriban Aliyeva wished Sami Yusuf success in her future work.
