The meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister on the instruction of President Ilham Aliyev, was attended by the heads of relevant government agencies.

Axar.az reports citing the Press Office of the Cabinet of Ministers that discussions were held to prevent the outbreak of the epidemic in Azerbaijan:

- tightening checkpoints at border crossings;

- Observance of strict medical examination and control of all persons arriving from China, especially from the epidemic zone;

- development of a list of food products that are considered to be particularly risky and which can transmit the virus and strengthening control over those products in the food market;

- establishment of hotlines in health facilities;

- carrying out public awareness about the virus and methods of combating it;

- regular public awareness of the situation.
