Egypt declares three days of mourning for former president

Egyptian authorities have declared three days of mourning, starting on February 25, following the death of former President Hosni Mubarak.

Axar.az informs that, the politician died after a long battle with a disease. At the end of January, the ex-President had a tumor removed from his stomach, and he received treatment in the intensive care unit.

In early 2011, several Arab countries began mass anti-government protests caused by economic and social problems. On January 25, 2011, several thousand people in Cairo came out to demand the resignation of Hosni Mubarak. Protests in Egypt continued for 18 days. Mubarak resigned in February.
