The President visited the Khojaly monument

Thousands of people gathered in front of a memorial to the victims of the tragedy in Khatai district on February 26 to attend the commemoration of the 28th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide.

Axar.az reports that President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the ceremony.

An honorary guard was lined up next to the monument.

President Ilham Aliyev laid a wreath at the monument and paid tribute to the victims of the genocide.

First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and representatives of state and government laid flowers at the monument.
