Eight piles have been hammered down at a depth of 32 meters for the railway bridge which is being constructed across the Astara River, Nadir Azmammadov, spokesman for the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC.

Around 100 machineries are involved in the work on the territory, which has a rugged relief. It is necessary to construct 14 drainage systems for wastewaters here.

Additionally, work is underway to transfer power transmission lines and gas pipelines in the territory.

The transfer of the houses located in the construction territory will start soon.

Azmammadov added that the construction of the railway line and the bridge is planned to be completed before late 2016.
