Migration Service unveils number of foreigners in Azerbaijan

The decline in number of foreigners is observed during the period from January 1, 2020 to May 20 as compared with relevant period of the last year. January-February of this year was an active period in terms of migration, the 15 percent growth was observed then.

Axar.az reports it was said by Vusal Huseynov, head of the State Migration Service (SMS) during the online press conference.

“The 44 percent decline has taken place due to the continuous closure of borders over coronavirus. Currently, over 134 thousand foreigners live in the country. The foreigners are mainly the citizens of Russia, Iran, Turkey, Ukraine and other countries”, the head of the Service stressed.
