The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has issued an official statement on the tension on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border.

Axar.az informs that, in a statement, Kiev expressed deep concern over the artillery fire of the Armenian armed forces in the direction of Tovuz on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border.

Ukraine believes that the conflict must be resolved peacefully, in accordance with the principles and norms of international law, as well as UN Security Council Resolutions 822, 853, 874 and 884 adopted in 1993.

"Ukraine supports the political settlement of the conflict within the internationally recognized borders of Azerbaijan on the basis of respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan," the statement said.
