The Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) has announced the flight schedule of Hajj Pilgrimage 2016 for Azerbaijani pilgrims.
The first flight from Azerbaijan to Saudi Arabia is scheduled for September 2, APA reports.
According to the CMO, the Hajj pilgrims are set to depart from Azerbaijan on September 2, 3 and 4 (once or twice in one day). After performing Hajj 2016, the Azerbaijani pilgrims will return home on September 18, 19 and 21 (once or twice in one day).
On 1 April 2016, the CMO started the process of registration for Hajj pilgrimage.
In accordance with the agreement reached with Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan has set a quota of 1,040 pilgrims for the 2016 Hajj pilgrimage. Prices for the 2016 Hajj packages from Azerbaijan will be $3,500 and 4,000 respectively.
This year, Azerbaijani pilgrims are offered two Hajj packages – $3500 ($4,700 in 2015) for accommodation in a hotel with weak conditions, where meals are served twice a day and $4,500 ($5,750 in 2015) for accommodation in a hotel with better conditions, where various kinds of meals are served.
In 2015, as many as 2,400 Azerbaijani pilgrims left for Hajj. Three of them died and were buried in Mecca.
Quota for Hajj pilgrims is 1,500 people this year. Registration is carried out only by the CMO.
