Number of Azerbaijani population announced

As of May 1, 2016, number of Azerbaijani population made 9,739,200, up 33,600 persons or 0.3% from early 2016.

According to State Statistical Committee, density of population made 112 persons per m2. Each 1,000 men are equal to 1,007 women. 53.1% of population is in cities, 46.9% in villages, 49.8% are men, 50.2% women.


In January-April 2016, 52,700 babies were born in the country. Of this, 53.1% are boys, 46.9% - girls.
