An enlarged meeting of the Operational Staff was held today under the chairmanship of Ali Asadov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Operational Headquarters for Combating the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Axar.az reports that the meeting discussed the current situation with the pandemic - the scale of infection, treatment of patients, the speed and scale of vaccination, the results of monitoring to monitor compliance with the requirements of the special quarantine regime.

It was noted that it is expedient to strengthen control over compliance with the rules of the special quarantine regime during the upcoming New Year holidays.

The meeting also discussed the "omicron" strain and preventive measures against it, and gave instructions on relevant preparations.
