President: We have already won our first gold medal

This time, I am sure that our athletes will show great results. And we have already claimed our first gold medal. I want to congratulate the team on this occasion.

Axar.az reports that President Ilham Aliyev said at a meeting with athletes representing Azerbaijan at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games held in Konya, Turkiye, on August 9.

"Today is the official opening ceremony of the Games today, but the Games are already underway. And I am sure that this great result will be a wonderful stimulus for other athletes," President Ilham Aliyev stressed.
