The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the criteria for determining the economic subjects and non-residential buildings that must undergo a mandatory energy audit.

Axar.az reports that Prime Minister Ali Asadov signed a decision in this regard.

The decision stated that according to Article 6.3 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Effective Use of Energy Resources and Energy Efficiency", it is mandatory to conduct an energy audit in economic entities and non-residential buildings that meet the following criteria, regardless of the organizational-legal and ownership form:

- economic entities whose annual energy consumption exceeds 1000 tons of oil equivalent;

- non-residential buildings with a construction area of at least 10,000 square meters or annual energy consumption of more than 250 tons of oil equivalent.

This Decision applies from July 1, 2022.
