National Television and Radio Council (NTRC) has passed a decision on termination of the license of ANS Chm radio station, NTRC chairman Nushiravan Maharramli told APA.
He said ANS Chm radio station violated laws during broadcasting several times. “According to the law, the Television and Radio Council can suspend the broadcasting of any channel or radio, if it was brought to responsibility thrice,” he said.
The NTRC chairman said that the court will be appealed on termination of the special permit (license) granted to ANS Independent Broadcasting Media Company.
The National Television and Radio Council (NTRC) passed a decision on suspension of the broadcasting of ANS TV channel for a month from 18:30 pm, July 18, 2016 in accordance with the appeal of Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office dated July 18, 2016 and requirements of the articles #11, 23 and 32 of the law “On Television and Radio Broadcasting” of the Azerbaijan Republic in order to prevent the provocation aimed at undermining strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Turkey and apparent promotion of terrorism.
In December, 2015, ANS CM Radio was fined AZN 161,000 under 26 decisions for the violation of the law on TV and radio broadcasting and the law on advertisement during live broadcasting.
