Specialists were sent to the area peacekeepers' station

At the inquiry the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Defense appealed to the command of the Russian peacekeeping forces to send experts of the relevant institutions of our country to those areas, where they are temporarily stationed, for the purpose of investigating and monitoring the illegal exploitation of minerals and the resulting environmental damage in the territories of Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports citing MENR that on December 3, 2022, at 11:00, the employees of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Committee on Property Issues under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the "AzerGold" Closed Joint Stock Company approached the checkpoint of the Russian peacekeeping forces between the cities of Khankendi and Shusha to cross the territory.

Currently, the operation of a group of experts in the areas where the Russian peacekeeping forces are temporarily stationed is being discussed with the command of the peacekeeping forces in order to investigate and monitor the illegal exploitation of minerals and the resulting environmental damage.

The public will be informed about the results of the talks.
