The talks of the foreign ministers in Moscow showed that Russia and Azerbaijan are looking in the same direction both in terms of the speedy normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan, as well as in the matter of moving forward in a changing world.
Axar.az reports that this was said by Russian military analyst Igor Korotchenko.
"Moscow is making every effort to become an effective mediator between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the way to settlement. We know that Armenia's attempts to bring France, which has a clear anti-Azerbaijani position, to the path of negotiations ended with Baku's refusal to negotiate in Brussels. Therefore, the meeting between Lavrov and Bayramov in Moscow is a confirmation of Baku's readiness to continue negotiations with Armenia on the basis of Russian mediation. And Russia's mediation has once again confirmed that the main issue for the peace agreement may be the mutual recognition of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the fact that Karabakh belongs to Azerbaijan," said Korotchenko.
