The meaning of the work presented by the President

As we reported, yesterday President Ilham Aliyev presented a painting by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, to Edi Rama, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania.

Axar.az reports that senior researcher of the Azerbaijan State Art Gallery, art critic Ziyarat Jabarova said that the painting is rich in symbols:

"The main compositional center of the work is the figure of a tree, divided into seven main large branches drawn from the bottom to the top, with its roots going deep. Birds, petals, symbolic images, stylized human figures, pomegranates, and the inscription of God attract our attention between the branches and trunk of the tree, which symbolically correspond to the number 7. A tree with roots deep into the soil can be interpreted as the antiquity of traditions and the eternity of the soil. The main artistry of the work, coded with unique signs, is the development of its plot. In other words, the artist created an opportunity for the viewer to think and think about his own story while choosing the position of the figures. Human figures wrapped around each other remind of Leyli and Majnu, pomegranates symbolizing abundance and blessing, God writing combined with other figures are allusions to the author's philosophical thoughts focused on the eternal themes of art, love, and hate, day and night, good and evil following each other."
