The President of the Council of the European Union Charles Michel made a statement to the press about the results of the informal meeting between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Olaf Scholtz and the President of the Republic of France Emmanuel Macron on June 1.
Axar.az reports that Charles Michel said in his statement:
"We just had a very good meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, President of France Emmanuel Macron and Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz. We had the opportunity to review the issues we discussed in Brussels in May and discuss coordination, security, border delimitation, and peace agreement. This meeting was a good preparation for the next meeting in Brussels on July 21. This means we work very hard. We intend to support all positive efforts towards the normalization of relations and also stated that we intend to invite President Aliyev, Prime Minister Pashinyan, Chancellor Scholtz and President Macron to a meeting again within the framework of the next meeting of the "European political Union" to be held in Spain. This means that we will do everything in our power to help the European Union make further progress towards the normalization of relations."
