President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev congratulated the residents of Shusha on the occasion of their return to their hometown.

Axar.az reports that the head of state, speaking at the ceremony of presenting the keys to the apartments to the first residents who returned to Shusha, said:

"After thirty-two years, you return to your native Shusha. I heartily congratulate you on this wonderful historical event. You lived with homesickness for thirty-two years, but I know that you never forgot Shusha, you knew and believed that you would return here. I also knew, I believed, and as the President, starting from 2003, I did everything in my power to return you and all the former settlers to their native land.
