The construction of the Khankendi-Shusha-Lachin highway will be completed next year.

Axar.az informs that Gazanfar Safarov, the head of the economic analysis department of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Highways and the register of highways and the economic analysis of project documents, said this in a statement to journalists.

Construction works on the reconstruction project of the Khankendi-Shusha-Lachin highway are being continued. The total length of the highway is 34 kilometers. The width of the soil bed on the second technical grade road is 15 meters, and the width of each lane is 3.75 meters.

2 bridges, 4 tunnels, and culverts will be built on the road.

Excavation works have been carried out at the entrance and exit portals of the first and third tunnels, which are 440 and 1100 meters long. In the other two tunnels - the second and fourth tunnels with lengths of 540 and 300 meters, work will be started soon.

Construction of the road surface - the bottom layer of the base is 25 centimeters, the base layer is 20 centimeters, the top layer of the base is 18 centimeters, and asphalt concrete will be poured in two layers. Also, there will be 7 centimeters of medium-grained asphalt concrete and 5 centimeters of fine-grained asphalt concrete. The project is expected to be completed by the end of next year.

It should be noted that before this the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev got acquainted with the works done on the Khankendi-Shusha-Lachin highway.
