I am sure that the summit meeting of world religious leaders scheduled for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) to be held in Azerbaijan in November of this year will once again confirm the importance of the solidarity of politicians and religious figures in solving the problems of global climate change.
Axar.az reports that this idea was included in the letter of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the participants of the Global Dialogue Forum organized by the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) in Lisbon.
"Currently, the geostrategic conflicts occurring in different regions of our planet, in different geographies, show that the international security architecture is changing and require new approaches in bilateral and multilateral relations. Modern challenges emphasize the need to correctly define the role of religion in social life and international relations, to prevent the use of religion for political purposes, and to strengthen cooperation between civilizations," the letter stated.
