Axar.az reports that the Iranian Ambassador to Armenia, Mehdi Subhani, said these words in an interview with "Azadlig" radio while answering a question about Azerbaijan's request to open the Zangezur Corridor.

"You are neighbors with Azerbaijan and Turkiye, you cannot always be enmity, and one day you will solve these issues with them. When relations are settled, it is natural to open borders. We are in favor of opening communication channels under the sovereignty of Armenia. And this should apply to all countries of the region. We have a border with Nakhchivan, and we can connect with Yerevan by rail from Julfa, and from Shahtakht (village of Nakhchivan - ed.) to Arazdayan by car. In other words, it takes about 6 hours from Mehri to Yerevan, and probably less than an hour from Shahtakhti to Arazdayan and Yerevan. That is, if the road opens, everyone will use it. This applies not only to the east-west direction, but also to the north-south direction. But opening the blockade should be within the national sovereignty of the countries. No one allows their laws to be violated in their territory, it is against international law and there should be no dividends. And the benefits should be extended to everyone," he said.
