Asel Dadashli, an Azerbaijani journalist and social activist living in Tehran, was punished for spreading information about Nika Shakerami, who was killed by officials during the 2022 protests.
Axar.az reports that he shared about this on his social media account.
According to information, Department No. 1027 of the Second Criminal Court of Tehran sentenced Dadashli to pay a fine of 6,600,000 tumens (160 dollars at the official exchange rate) on the charge of "spreading false information".
It should be noted that in addition to him, 4 other journalists were sentenced to various punishments for spreading similar information.
