The French government is still using the media to accuse us of meddling in their internal affairs. But this is not the case at all.

Axar.az reports that President Ilham Aliyev said these words in his speech at the 2nd Shusha Global Media Forum on "Exposure of false information: fight against disinformation".

"Many members of the Non-Aligned Movement have been victims of colonialism in the past. Millions of people have been victims of it and some countries are still suffering from it. For example, Gamar Islands, Mayotte Island. They are still under colonial rule. We want to help these countries to free themselves from this disgusting remnant of the past," the head of state said.

According to the head of state, the French government is still using the media to accuse us of meddling in their internal affairs:

"This is absolutely not the case. We associate this with the anti-Azerbaijani position in the European Union and the UN. They started a cold war against Azerbaijan. We are doing this because we are convinced that what France is doing is abhorrent, unacceptable and must be stopped. They do not have the power to influence the fate of those people to such an extent. Those countries are located thousands of kilometers away from France, they try to assimilate them, insult them. Seven people died in the latest incidents in New Caledonia. This happened as a result of the actions of France and its president. We will continue to support all nations suffering from colonialism, we will do our best," the country's leader said.
