Sukiasyan: There's No need to argue about Zangezur

Of course, we should continue and deepen economic relations with Russia. Armenia should have multifaceted economic relations with any country in the world.

Axar.az reports that Khachatur Sukiasyan, a deputy from the ruling party of Armenia, said this.

According to him, not road control, but monitoring may be necessary:

"Any road passing through the territory of Armenia is under our sovereignty. Of course, in order for other states of the region to show confidence, not control, but some monitoring may be necessary. These issues are to some extent technical, to some extent political, to some extent state. I think that a "golden mean" will be found between the countries, Sukiasyan said.

In response to comments about Moscow's insistence on controlling the road through Zangezur, the deputy said that any country tries to advance its interests:

"It is normal for any state to want to get more. And it happens the other way around: either it doesn't give something, or it does. Now, as a state, we want the best for Armenia in negotiations with other states. And here the "golden mean" will be found. I think we dwell on this issue too much and make communication difficult. It is not necessary. There are international associations, discipline, international relations, agreements signed between states. As a result, everything will be resolved, and I think that it will be right for Armenia to conduct an open policy."
