The head of the Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of East Azerbaijan Province, Mohammad-Hossein Balaqi, has announced that Azerbaijani national dances have been banned in theaters.

Axar.az informs that this information was reported by "Tabriz Voice."

He stated that various activities are allowed within the framework of artistic works in theaters, but the display of Azerbaijani dances is not permitted.

This decision has sparked widespread reactions from artists and cultural activists, with some considering it a threat to the region’s cultural identity.
