Efforts are underway to establish climate coalitions within the framework of COP29.
Axar.az reports that German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock shared this in a post on her X account, stating:
"The climate crisis is the greatest security challenge of our time. It does not stop at borders and does not care about election dates. Every tenth of a degree makes a difference. We know we must do everything to stay on the 1.5-degree path."
Baerbock emphasized the importance of fostering close global cooperation during COP29:
"In Baku, we are working to form climate coalitions across continents. Progress will only be possible if we work together."
The minister also reaffirmed Germany and Europe's commitment to being reliable partners in financing the global transition to climate resilience:
" At the same time, the new major emitters must also take responsibility—both in reducing greenhouse gases and contributing to climate finance.
