Iran's Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Handicrafts, Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri, has traveled to Armenia to attend the 8th meeting of the Assembly of Ancient Civilizations member countries.

Axar.az reports that this was announced by Iranian media.

According to the information, during his visit, the Iranian minister toured the Blue Mosque in Yerevan, which is considered a historical architectural monument of Azerbaijan.

Iran's official government website has attempted to controversially "Persianize" the Blue Mosque:

"The Blue Mosque of Yerevan is not only recognized for its beauty and unique design but also as a symbol of the multicultural history and mutual cultural relations between Armenia and Iran."
