President and Vice president send wreaths for crash victims

The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the First Vice President, Mehriban Aliyeva, have sent wreaths to the farewell ceremony for the crew members who died in a plane crash.

Axar.az reports that the wreaths were placed near the coffins of the three crew members who died - captain Igor Kshnyakin, co- pilot Aleksandr Kalyaninov, and purser Hokuma Aliyeva.

It is noteworthy that on December 25, the AZAL plane operating the Baku-Grozny flight was shot down by Russian air defense systems over the sky of Grozny and sustained serious damage. As it was not permitted to land, the plane headed towards Aktau and crashed near Aktau Airport. As a result of the crash, 38 out of the 67 people on board were killed, and 29 survived.
