A month has passed since the crash of the Embraer 190 passenger plane belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) on the Baku-Grozny route near Aktau on December 25 last year.
Axar.az reports that this was stated in a joint statement by the Ministry of Health and TABIB.
Immediately after the incident, a State Commission was established by the relevant order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to investigate the causes of the plane crash. The Order assigned necessary tasks to relevant state institutions, including the Ministry of Health and the Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB).
Following these instructions, the injured citizens were brought back to the country, and the necessary conditions were created for their treatment.
Of the 17 individuals hospitalized at Yeni Klinika, 4 were admitted directly to the Intensive Care Unit, while 13 were taken to the Inpatient Department.
The evacuated patients were diagnosed with trauma to various body parts (fractures, contusions, traumatic brain injuries, blunt chest trauma), bilateral pneumothorax, hemothorax, and respiratory failure.
Each of them underwent examination by qualified specialists (orthopedic traumatologists, neurosurgeons, intensivists, thoracic surgeons, general surgeons, and infectious disease specialists) and necessary instrumental diagnostic procedures.
In total, 13 of the 17 injured evacuated individuals have been discharged for outpatient treatment. Their recovery continues under the supervision of district physicians in their respective areas.
Surgical operations were performed on three of the injured individuals.
Currently, 4 patients (1 male and 3 females) remain under inpatient care. The condition of the patient in the Intensive Care Unit is assessed as serious but stable, while the condition of the other 3 patients receiving treatment in the Inpatient Department is considered satisfactory.
