President Ilham Aliyev shared his views on the natural gas crisis between Russia and the European Union at a meeting with participants of the III Shusha Global Media Forum.

Axar.az reports that the head of state noted in this regard:

“They (the European Union – ed.) intend to refuse Russian gas. We have never taken this into account. We have never tried to compete with Russia. Even at that time, Russia was transporting 150 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe. We have never suggested that we could be an alternative to this. We operate purely on commercial principles. Our energy policy has been business-oriented. We have never politicized it, we have never reduced the volume of gas.”
