Azerbaijani judokas finished the Open Asia Tournament held in Aktau, Kazakhstan with 10 medals.
Axar.az reports, citing the federation, that on the final day of the competition, four more members of the national team reached the podium.
In the women’s 70 kg weight category, the final was marked by an all-Azerbaijan derby. Südabə Ağayeva won the gold medal, while Aytac Qardaşxanlı took silver.
Günel Həsənli also won a silver medal in the 78 kg category. In the men’s competition, Elmar Qasımov (-100 kg) earned a bronze medal.
It should be noted that the previous day, Tofiq Məmmədov (60 kg) and Gültac Məmmədəliyeva (52 kg) won gold, Hüseyn Allahyarov (60 kg) and Ülviyyə Bayramova (57 kg) took silver, and Elşən Əsədov (66 kg) and İbrahim Əliyev (73 kg) earned bronze medals.
In total, Azerbaijan won 10 medals: 3 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze, finishing third in the overall team standings.
