Barcelona’s named Champions League player of the week

Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez has been named UEFA Champions League Player of the Week.

Axar.az reports that the 22-year-old scored a hat-trick in the 6-1 home win over Olympiacos in the third round of the Champions League.

He thus became the first Spanish player in the history of the Champions League to score three goals in a single match for Barcelona.

Fermin Lopez beat Athletic Bilbao's Gorka Kuruseta, who scored twice against Qarabag, PSV striker Dennis Mane, and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha to win the award.
