Mbappe sets another World Cup record

France forward Kylian Mbappe has added another milestone to his World Cup career.

Axar.az reports, citing ESPN, that Mbappe scored the winning goal from the penalty spot in France’s 1-0 victory over Paraguay in the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The goal took Mbappe tally in World Cup knockout matches to 11, extending his all-time record and moving him three goals clear of Brazil legend Ronaldo.

Mbappe also became the only player to score three or more goals in the knockout stages of three different World Cups.

France will face Morocco in the quarterfinals as they continue their bid for another World Cup title.
