Fifteen-year-old footballer Micael Leandro da Silva died on Saturday after being shot during an amateur football tournament in Maceio, Brazil.

Axar.az informs, citing local media, that the forward played in Sao Paulo FC's youth academy between 2025 and 2026 and was part of the squad that won the Fictor U-15 Cup.

In June, he completed a transfer to CSA and returned to his hometown of Maceio.

According to the Alagoas Civil Police, Micael was not the intended target of the attackers, and there is no evidence linking him to any criminal activity.

He was taken to the General State Hospital but later died from his injuries.
