Emil Aliyev re-elected head of Russian Mini-Football Association

Emil Aliyev has been re-elected president of the Russian Mini-Football Association (RMFA) for another five-year term.

Axar.az reports that the decision was made at the association's reporting and election conference.

Aliyev has served as executive director of the Russian Super League since 2003, director general of the RMFA since 2005, and president of the association since 2011. He was also re-elected to the post in 2016 and 2021.

In addition, Aliyev has been a member of UEFA's Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee.

During his tenure, Russia's national futsal team finished as runners-up at the 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup. The team also reached the UEFA European Futsal Championship final five times and won bronze medals on two occasions.

Aliyev was born in Baku. He holds a doctorate in education, is a professor, an Honored Physical Culture Worker of Russia, and the author of a number of academic works on physical education and sports.
