Turkish football club Trabzonspor has parted ways with head coach Fatih Tekke following the team’s elimination from the UEFA Europa League.
Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, that Tekke offered his resignation last week after Trabzonspor suffered a 4-0 away defeat to Hungary’s Ferencvaros in the Europa League playoff round.
The club’s board initially rejected his resignation and backed him to remain in charge.
Despite the initial support, Trabzonspor and Tekke have now ended their cooperation.
The 48-year-old former Trabzonspor captain took charge in March 2025. He led the club to third place in the Turkish Super Lig last season with 69 points and won the Turkish Cup.
