Former Azerbaijani boxer Tural Ahmadov has been arrested.

Axar.az reports that the 32-year-old athlete has been charged under Article 234.4.3 of the Criminal Code (preparing, transporting, or possessing large quantities of narcotics for the purpose of sale).

He was detained some time ago by officers of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. A court ordered his pretrial detention.

The investigation is currently ongoing.

It should be noted that after ending his boxing career, Tural Ahmadov also tried his hand at refereeing. He is a former Azerbaijan champion and represented the country in a number of competitions.
