Azerbaijan's Neftchi have signed Nigerian striker Adeleke Akinyemi from Finnish club Gnistan, the club said.

Axar.az reports that the 28-year-old centre-forward, who has played in several European leagues, has scored 13 goals for Gnistan and featured in all 22 of the club's league matches this season.

Akinyemi was the top scorer in Latvia's top division in 2017. Two years ago, he helped Finland's Ilves finish runners-up in the league and qualify for the UEFA Europa League.

Akinyemi completed his medical on Monday and signed a two-year contract with Neftchi, with an option for a further season. He will wear the No. 26 shirt.
