Fenerbahce coach Ismail Kartal has withdrawn his resignation and will remain in charge of the Turkish club.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkiye's media, that Fenerbahce officially confirmed that Kartal will lead Friday’s training session as the team begins preparations for its match against Gaziantep FK.

The 65-year-old coach had announced his resignation after Thursday’s 1-1 Champions League draw with Roma, but club president Aziz Yildirim intervened and persuaded him to continue.

Fenerbahce said in a statement: “Our head coach, Mr. Ismail Kartal, is in charge. Our team will continue preparations for the Gaziantep FK match with a training session tomorrow at 11:30 under the management of our head coach, Ismail Kartal.”
