Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has issued a statement regarding his decision to leave the national team’s camp.

Axar.az reports that the 41-year-old forward shared the statement on social media.

He said he made the decision after speaking with the president of the Portuguese Football Federation.

“Following the national team head coach’s press conference and a conversation with the president of the Portuguese Football Federation, I have decided to leave the national team camp.

In due course, I will tell the Portuguese people the truth about the reasons behind my decision to leave the national team, to which I have always given my full commitment.

For now, I wish Portugal and all my teammates, without exception, the best of luck,” Ronaldo wrote on Instagram.

It should be noted that disagreements between Ronaldo and Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus had reportedly emerged in recent days. Ronaldo left the national team’s camp yesterday.
