Samra Gasimova won world crown

Azerbaijan`s Samra Gasimova has become the winner of the World School Chess Championship in the girls` Under-9 category in the Russian city of Sochi.

She scored 7.5 points after 9 rounds. Russia`s Galina Mikheeva and Veronika Shebenkova ranked second and third respectively with 7 points.

Murad Ibrahimli earned Azerbaijan a silver medal in the boys` Under-15 event with 7 points.

The championship is a 9-round Swiss system tournament.
