Former Real Madrid player started musician career

Royston Drenthe has embarked on a new career after failing to find a new club.

The Dutchman made his name at Feyenoord before brief spells at Real Madrid and Everton.

Drenthe also played in England with Reading and Sheffield Wednesday and was without a club after leaving UAE outfit Baniyas.

But instead of focusing his attentions on finding a new club, Drenthe has released a rap song, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Under the alias Roya2Faces, the 29-year-old released a tune to YouTube on Wednesday titled Paranoia, which is produced by beatsmith JiandroBeats.

Speaking on his Instagram account earlier this week, Drenthe posted: "Next Wednesday is the day!

"Be ready because at 12:00 I drop my first single called Paranoia.

"Subscribe to my YouTube Channel, like, share and tag all your friends because there are still very nice things. Stay tuned!"

During his time on Merseyside, the Dutchman regularly linked up with his compatriot and then Liverpool winger Ryan Babel, who has also previously got himself on the mic.

The pair were guests on Dutch radio show Zomersessie back in 2009 as they performed a rap freestyle over Rhymefest's 2006 hit Brand New.
