The Azerbaijan capital, the city of Baku was the host of the Azerbaijan Muaythai Championships. The venue for the European Olympic Games 2016, the Olympic Center Baku hosted the event, and a 5000 seater venue welcomed so many spectators who came to wish well to the winners who will go to the World Championships in Minsk.

The Head Coach of the Azerbaijan team Səhriyar Isayev said that around 300 athletes came to the capital to compete for the right to participate in the first World Muaythai Championships held as an Olympic sport.
