Azerbaijani karate fighters win 12 medals

Azerbaijani karate fighters have brought home a clutch of 12 medals from the Bogazici open international tournament in Istanbul, Turkey.

Tural Agalarzade (67kg) and Samir Mammadov (75kg) claimed gold medals, while Niyazi Aliyev at 67kg, Aykhan Mamayev at 84kg, and Neda Rezai earned silver medals of the tournament.

Museyib Mammadov (52kg), Asiman Gurbanli and Ali Jafarov both at +84kg, as well as female fighters Nurana Aliyeva at 50kg and Farida Aliyeva at 68kg snatched bronze medals.

The Azerbaijani karate fighter ranked third at the team competition.

The tournament brought together 780 athletes from 28 countries.
